Chaussures de sécurité are a general term for safety shoes and protective shoes. Safety shoes are shoes worn in different workplaces to protect the feet and legs from foreseeable injuries. Safety shoes can be divided into different categories according to different classification methods.
So, if classified by function, what types of safety shoes can be divided into?
1. Toe-protecting and anti-smashing shoes
Used to protect workers’ toes from the risk of being hit by objects. Because in many working environments, workers need to carry heavy objects or there are sharp metal plates, workers can protect their toes and feet by wearing toe-protecting and anti-smashing shoes. The front toe of the toe-protecting and anti-smashing shoes uses a metal material with good impact resistance, high strength and light weight as the lining. Its strength and impact resistance must be tested and meet the specified standards before it can be used. Note that safety shoes of different strengths should be selected according to the severity of the work.
2. Insulated shoes
If there is a risk of electric current in the working environment, the risk of electric shock to the feet can be reduced by wearing insulated shoes. However, in order to better protect workers, when working in an electrical environment, in addition to wearing insulating shoes, you also need to wear insulating gloves and other protective products. Insulating shoes can be divided into several types according to the voltage range, such as 20kV, 6kV and 5kV. Workers can choose according to the current intensity of the workplace. Remember to do a good job of safety inspection before using insulating shoes. If they are damp or severely worn, they should be replaced in time.
3. Anti-static and conductive shoes
Anti-static safety shoes are suitable for preventing accidents caused by human static electricity, and avoiding 220V power frequency capacitor equipment accidentally causing electric shock to the human body. Conductive shoes are used in places where fire or explosion may occur, which are more sensitive to human static electricity. Some of these shoes are safety shoes and rubber shoes with anti-static or conductive soles, and the entire shoe does not use metal to reduce the possibility of friction fire. The shoes should be tested for resistance from the beginning of use. Then they should be tested regularly to ensure that the maximum resistance value of the shoes does not exceed the allowable value.
4. Steelmaking shoes and shoe covers
This type of safety shoes is also called foundry shoes, which are mainly used to prevent burns and stabs on the feet. This type of safety shoes should not only be pressure-resistant, but also not easy to burn, so the upper is made of oil-soaked cowhide and canvas-lined leather, and the sole is made of tire-lined cowhide. At the same time, in order to prevent burns from molten metal splashes, a high-waisted and easy-to-remove style is adopted. The shoe cover covers the shoe mouth and trouser legs, and the shoe cover is mostly made of canvas, asbestos, and aluminum film.
5. Rubber shoes
If divided by use, this type of safety shoes can also be divided into acid-alkali boots, waterproof boots, oil-proof shoes, etc. Acid-alkali boots are suitable for places where there are acids, alkalis and other corrosive liquids on the working ground. They are made of acid-alkali-resistant rubber. There are also acid-alkali-resistant trouser boots connected with trouser boots. Waterproof boots are used for operations with water accumulation or splashing on the ground. The basic material is rubber. There are miners’ waterproof boots, special boots for aquatic products, and rice transplanting boots. Oil-proof shoes are used for operations with oily ground. They are made of rubber or polyethylene plastic. There are boots, shoes, etc.
6. Cold-proof shoes
This type of safety shoes is suitable for severe cold or low-temperature environments and has good thermal insulation properties. Due to the different materials used, they are divided into cotton shoes, fur boots and felt boots.
In fact, in addition to the above-mentioned safety shoes, there are other different types of safety shoes, such as oil-resistant shoes, acid-resistant shoes, etc. Different application scenarios and special types of work require the selection of shoes for the corresponding scenarios.
